What is Power Play? |
Power Play is an option you can choose to play when you play Powerball. But why play it?

You can multiply your winnings by 2, 3, 4, or 5! |
For an additional $1 per play on your Powerball ticket, you'll have a chance to multiply your
winnings up five times the original amount of your prize—except for the jackpot. All non–jackpot
prizes can be multiplied 2, 3, 4, or 5 times their value. You could win as much as $1 million by
purchasing Power Play when you purchase your Powerball ticket!

How does it work? |
Just before the regular Powerball drawing on Wednesday and Saturday nights, a Power Play
multiplier number from 2 to 5 is randomly selected. If you win a Powerball prize and purchased
Power Play for an additional $1 with your Powerball ticket, you've just multiplied your prize by
that amount.

For example, say you bought a $1 Powerball ticket and paid an additional $1 for the
Power Play option. If you win $100 and the Power Play multiplier is 3, you've won $300.
($100 X 3 = $300.)
Add Power Play to your ticket and hit the Match 5, you get $1 million! The Match 5 prize with Power Play option will always be multiplied 5X for $1 million cash. Note that any set prizes or Power Play prizes, including the Match 5+0 prize, may be reduced if wins exceed the available prize fund.
