Bradley Bell of Billings has claimed the first $10,000 Montana Millionaire Early Bird prize with a ticket purchased at 3 G's Convenience, 730 Lake Elmo Dr.; Billings.

37,417 tickets were sold by November 23 when the first Early Bird Drawing was held. Bradley’s winning ticket number was 20798. As of Thursday, December 13, there are 52,814 tickets remaining in the game.

The second Early Bird Drawing for $10,000 will be held Friday, December 14, at 10 a.m. Winners of the Early Bird Drawings are still eligible for the Montana Millionaire $1 million grand prize drawing to be held on January 1, 2013.

Monica Seidel of Medicine Lake Monday claimed a $250,000 top prize for the “$250,000 Extravaganza” Scratch game with a ticket from Eight Ball Inn, 208 Main St.

Monica works at Eight Ball Inn, Medicine Lake’s only Montana Lottery retailer. She sells the “$250,000 Extravaganza” tickets often but never played it herself until Thursday. She got two tickets while she was on a break early into her shift and was lucky enough to scratch off a top prize.

With all the excitement of winning, Monica said finishing the work day was a lot harder than usual. But she survived and was at Lottery headquarters early Monday morning to claim her prize.

Monica said she plans to save her winnings for now but is considering buying a new house and investing.

“$250,000 Extravaganza” debuted Aug. 6 with prizes up to $250,000. The second $250,000 top prize is still available to win.

John Culbertson of Billings claimed a $10,000 Powerball prize with a ticket purchased at Conomart Super Store, 1219 Main St.; Billings.

John purchased his ticket as Powerball was making history. The record Powerball jackpot reached $587.5 million for the drawing on Wednesday, November 28.

John was the largest winner in Montana from the biggest Powerball jackpot drawing in history. The $587.5 million jackpot was shared by two players in Arizona and Missouri.

John plans to pay down the principal on his mortgage and pay off some bills with his win. And he said, “Always choose the Power Play option, I didn't and sure wish I did." Had he added Power Play for an additional $1, he would have increased his win from $10,000 to $40,000 as he matched four white balls and the Powerball during the drawing.


The Powerball jackpot is estimated at $40 million for Saturday’s drawing.

Robert Wilson of Butte Wednesday claimed a $50,000 prize for the “5X Lucky” Scratch game with a ticket purchased RD’s Travel Stop, 2801 Harrison Ave., Butte.

Robert got 5X lucky to the tune of $50,000 when he scratched away to reveal a big win! This is his largest Lottery win and it was a “good one.”

Robert plans on using his Lottery winnings to buy himself a new 4-wheeler for hunting.

“5X Lucky” debuted August 6, 2012 with prizes up to $50,000.

Shannon Crane of East Helena Monday claimed a $25,000 prize for the “Bejeweled” Scratch game with a ticket purchased from Thriftway Super Stop, 1405 Euclid Ave., Helena.

Upon seeing her check, Shannon said, “If feels real now. It took awhile to sink in.” This is her first big Lottery win.

Shannon purchased her ticket from Thriftway, where she is also employed. “I am so excited. This is pretty cool,” she said.

Shannon plans on using her Lottery winnings to purchase a new car, “a family car.”

“Bejeweled” debuted September 24, 2012 with prizes up to $25,000.
