HELENA — The Montana Lottery is excited to announce that a $2 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in Missoula for the drawing held on Monday, September 1, 2025. The lucky ticket, purchased at Rosauers, matched all five numbers to win $1 million and, thanks to the included Power Play add-on, the prize was multiplied to a grand total of $2 million.
The winning numbers from Monday’s drawing were 8, 23, 25, 40, and 53, with the Powerball being 5.
“We are incredibly excited to celebrate yet another major win right here in Montana,” said Montana Lottery Director Bob Brown. “This $2 million win is a fantastic example of the value of Power Play. We encourage everyone to check their tickets, and we can’t wait to meet our newest big winner!”
This win comes on the heels of other recent notable wins in Montana, including a $200,000 winner sold at Winners Corner in Missoula on Wednesday, August 27, and a $150,000 winner sold at Maverik in Belgrade on Saturday, August 30.
The Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday, September 3, has an estimated value of $1.4 billion, ranking as the fourth largest in Powerball history and the ninth largest among U.S. lottery jackpot games.
